The Miracle Manual Wheatgrass Juicer MJ-400, also known as The Porkert, is tin plated cast iron, which can rust if not dried properly after cleaning. We recommend placing the Miracle Manual Wheatgrass Juicer MJ-400 on the top rack of a dishwasher after washing by hand and run the dishwasher on the dry cycle. Or you may place the Miracle Manual Wheatgrass Juicer MJ-400 in an oven at a low temperature (no more than 225 degrees) for a few minutes to allow any remaining moisture on the juicer to evaporate. You also can place the Miracle Manual Wheatgrass Juicer MJ-400 in an empty crock pot set to warm to completely dry the juicer. If you find rust does form, you can cut a raw potato in half and sprinkle some souring powder and scrub until the rust is gone. Another method is using oil and salt on a folded paper towel, concentrating on the rusted spots. Or you may use steel wool, however this method could scratch the juicer. The newest MJ400's are supplied with two very wide rubber bands instead of the rubber pad supplied in past models. These wide rubber bands slide over the feet that previously held the rubber pad in place. When the wide rubber bands are installed on the juicer feet, the unit can then be securely clamped to a table or counter.
