The KRUPS Toaster is the first toaster we have found which has a stainless steel 'interior' and does NOT use Teflon®, silicone or any other non-stick coating inside the toaster. Many other toasters are coated on the inside so the crumbs can easily brush away and not stick to the inside of the toaster. However, the non-stick finish inside the other toasters can give off fumes when the toaster is being used. The "toaster smell" one may smell while a toaster is in use is usually the non-stick finish being heated. The KRUPS 4-Slice toaster will allow one to toast with peace of mind!
