Ultimate Nourishment's Inside Scoop:Wondering what kind of sprouting seeds to use with your sprouter? The healthiest sprouts one can consume are Broccoli Sprouts, not one of the healthiest, but the healthiest. Broccoli sprouts, which taste remarkably like alfalfa sprouts and conversely do not taste like broccoli, contain the highest amount of vitamins, minerals, proteins and enzymes, which are easily assimilated and digested. But what sets broccoli sprouts apart from other sprouting seeds, broccoli sprouts contain advanced anticancer compounds called sulforaphane glucosinolate which trigger the body's natural cancer-fighting resources and reduces risk of developing cancer. Research has found this compound can help protect against cancer and can also help fight cancerous cells. Broccoli sprouts are potently packed with protein and glucosinolates. Glucosinolates are found in all cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and cabbage but one would have to eat copious amounts of whole heads of broccoli and cabbage just to reap the same benefits as eating just a few tablespoons of broccoli sprouts. The broccoli sprout is that mighty! |

Ultimate Nourishment's Instructions for using the Biosta Seed Sprouter: Soak the sprouting seeds for 8-12 hours in a bowl of waterDrain and rinse the seeds thoroughly until the water runs clear.Water 2x a day; once in the morning and once again in the evening.
Fill the top tray with luke-warm water and put the lid on. Let the water drain through the other two trays and collect in the drain pan. Leave the water in the drain pan for 30 minutes. Empty the drain pan (emptying the drain pan on your houseplants will feed your plants a plethora of nutrients! Your plants will love you!). Cover the sprouter after each daily watering.
Take a towel or other thick cloth and cover the sprouter (or put the sprouter in a closed, cool pantry where it is dark). This encourages sprout growth rather than root growth since the sprout is seeking light and will grow upwards seeking light because it is dark. On the second to last day of sprouting, take the cover off, and let the sprouts receive indoor light or indirect sunlight. Most sprouts are ready to harvest on day 6 or 7.When you are ready to harvest, rinse the sprouts thoroughly and dry them. Place the sprouts in a tupperware container in the refrigerator and rinse them daily. Or if you want an easier way to rinse daily, leave the sprouts in the Biosta Seed Sprouter and place the whole Biosta Sprouter in the refrigerator with watering once a day right in the sprouter. Many customers have (2) Biosta Seed Sprouters, one in the refrigerator while consuming the sprouts and the other Biosta Sprouter growing a new batch of sprouts. This way when you run out of sprouts in your refrigerator in the first Biosta Sprouter, you are ready to harvest the second sprouter.
